Domestic Cleaning FAQs

Do you clean fabric upholstery?

No, we clean leather upholstery only.

Can you apply stain guard to my carpets?

Yes we offer a stain guard service for your carpets.  This is helpful especially for households with young children or pets.

I have spilled red wine or Irn Bru on my carpets, what should I do?

Try and soak up as much of the liquid as possible using layers of plain kitchen roll with a heavy book on top, repeat this process until most of the moisture has been withdrawn from the carpet.  Then call Scotclean to help with stain removal.  Do not treat with supermarket type household cleaners and do not rub or scrub the stain.

Can I use baby wipes to clean my leather sofa?

We would advise not using any type of wipes on your leather as they can be too abrasive and break down the protective top layer of your upholstery over time.  Always use a trained leather technician to clean your leather sofa.

How long will my carpets take to dry after cleaning?

This will depend on the type of fibre.  Our powerful machines will extract most of the moisture back out of your carpets during the cleaning process.  They may then take between 1 – 4 hours to fully dry.  It is advised to keep rooms ventilated after cleaning.
